NutraVital® Nature Joint Formula: joint supplement for dogs

NutraVital® Nature Joint Formula is a complementary feed for dogs to support mobility. The formula combines five ingredients in one product: glucosamine, MSM, chondroitin sulphate, collagen and hyaluronic acid, supplemented with anti-inflammatory rosehip powder. Instead of multiple individual supplements, this formula covers the most important building blocks for cartilage, joints, tendons and ligaments.

  • Five ingredients, one product: Glucosamine, MSM, chondroitin sulphate, collagen and hyaluronic acid. Together they support cartilage building, joint lubrication and connective tissue structure.

  • Powder instead of tablets or capsules: Simply mix into your dog's usual food. No acceptance problems, no stress during feeding. Many dogs spit out joint tablets; with a powder, this problem doesn't arise.

  • Also for puppies of large breeds: Great Dane, Labrador, German Shepherd. Large dogs are predisposed to joint problems such as HD (hip dysplasia). The joint formula can be used preventatively from puppyhood onwards.

  • 150 g container with measuring spoon: Palatable, natural ingredients, resealable. Fits into any feeding routine.

How the joint supplement works

The product combines five ingredients that fulfil different functions in your dog's body:

  • Glucosamine is a natural amino sugar that can help promote joint fluid production, support cartilage building and aid joint metabolism. This fluid serves as a lubricant between joint surfaces and is crucial for smooth joint function.

  • MSM (methylsulphonylmethane) supplies organic sulphur, a building block for collagen and keratin. MSM supports the structure of ligaments, cartilage and tendons and can contribute to overall stability.

  • Chondroitin sulphate is a natural component of cartilage tissue. It helps prevent cartilage loss whilst simultaneously promoting cartilage building. Chondroitin binds water in the tissue, providing elasticity and shock absorption ... an important factor under joint stress.

  • Collagen is the most abundant structural protein in the body and crucial for joint suppleness. It can help maintain the elasticity and load-bearing capacity of cartilage, tendons and ligaments. As a structural protein, collagen can also have a positive effect on skin and coat.

  • Hyaluronic acid is the main component of joint fluid. It acts as a natural lubricant, ensuring that joints move smoothly with every movement.

When to use the joint formula

For existing issues:

  • Age-related joint wear

  • Pain and stiffness when getting up

  • Reduced mobility and declining interest in exercise

  • Alongside joint conditions such as HD (hip dysplasia) or ED (elbow dysplasia)

For prevention:

  • For puppies of large breeds that are predisposed to joint problems

  • Alongside high-intensity sport, agility or intensive training

  • For older dogs to support the musculoskeletal system

How do you recognise joint problems in your dog? Dogs rarely show pain directly. Watch for: stiffness when getting up after lying down, difficulty with stairs, limping after play, less interest in walks, or general lethargy that wasn't there before. Quality of life suffers significantly with joint problems. A change in gait can also be a sign.

A complementary feed for healthy joints that provides support for existing issues and preventative protection, from puppyhood into old age.

Good to Know

Dog health: why the right nutritional supplement matters

Whether playing fetch, romping with other dogs, climbing stairs or jumping onto the sofa: dogs put their joints under stress every day. Cartilage, tendons, ligaments and the entire body work hard in the process. But with increasing age, certain breeds or high physical demands, natural wear sets in and joint function declines. The consequences are often gradual: your dog gets up more stiffly in the morning, avoids stairs, walks shorter distances or shows less enthusiasm for exercise.

Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease in dogs. It occurs when cartilage in the joints breaks down faster than it is renewed. The bones increasingly rub against each other, leading to pain and inflammation. Osteoarthritis is not curable, but targeted supplementation can help support joint function.

Well-chosen nutritional supplements can strengthen joint health and help maintain mobility. Glucosamine and chondroitin are among the most frequently used ingredients for joint health. The right combination matters: glucosamine for cartilage building, chondroitin sulphate to counter cartilage breakdown, MSM for connective tissue structure, collagen for elasticity and hyaluronic acid for joint lubrication.

Osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia in dogs: which breeds are most affected?

Osteoarthritis can affect any dog, but some breeds carry a significantly higher risk. Large dogs such as the Great Dane, Labrador, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd and Bernese Mountain Dog are genetically more susceptible to joint problems. According to veterinary studies, hip dysplasia (HD) and elbow dysplasia (ED) are among the most common joint conditions in these breeds. HD can occur as early as young adulthood.

Small and medium-sized dogs are not exempt either: high sporting demands, excess weight or simply age can put strain on any dog's joints. Excess weight in particular is one of the most common preventable causes of chronic joint conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Many vets therefore recommend starting supplementation at puppyhood in predisposed breeds, before the first symptoms appear.

The NutraVital® Nature Joint Formula is suitable both for dogs with existing osteoarthritis and for prevention: from puppies of large breeds to seniors with age-related wear.

Consider joint health holistically

A nutritional supplement alone isn't enough. Joint health in dogs is an interplay of proper nutrition, targeted supplementation, weight management and joint-friendly exercise. Keep your dog lean, stick to regular, moderate walks and avoid excessive strain, especially in predisposed breeds. The joint formula supports this holistic approach with the right nutrients from the inside.

Joint supplements for dogs: powder, tablets or capsules?

Many joint products for dogs come as tablets or capsules. The problem: not every dog accepts them. Some dogs spot them in their food and spit them out; others refuse the food entirely.

The NutraVital® Nature Joint Formula is deliberately designed as a powder. It blends into the familiar food, is generally accepted without problems and can be precisely dosed. A joint supplement that works in everyday life, without stress for dog or owner.

The five-fold formula contains glucosamine for cartilage building, MSM for ligaments and tendons, chondroitin sulphate to counter cartilage loss, collagen for joint suppleness and hyaluronic acid for smooth movement. Supplemented by rosehip powder with anti-inflammatory properties. Together, these five ingredients provide comprehensive joint support.
In osteoarthritis, cartilage breaks down faster than it is renewed. Scientific studies suggest that supplementing with glucosamine and chondroitin can support mobility. The joint formula specifically supports cartilage building (glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate) and joint lubrication (hyaluronic acid). It does not replace veterinary treatment but can support the musculoskeletal system as a daily supplement. Talk to your vet to find the right combination and dosage for your dog.
Yes. In large breeds, the product can be used from puppyhood onwards. Large breeds are predisposed to HD and ED. Early joint support can have a preventative effect before problems develop. This is particularly beneficial for young dogs of large breeds.
We recommend daily, continuous use. Your dog's joints are under stress every day. A continuous supply of the right nutrients supports cartilage, ligaments and the entire musculoskeletal system over the long term. In our experience, initial improvements typically appear after about two to three months of continuous feeding. Give your dog and the formula that time.
All breeds and ages benefit. Joint supplements are particularly relevant for large breeds such as the Great Dane, Labrador, Golden Retriever and German Shepherd, which are more prone to osteoarthritis, HD and other joint conditions. But active, sporty dogs and seniors with age-related wear also benefit.
Most joint supplements for dogs focus on individual ingredients or combinations of two to three. The NutraVital® Nature Joint Formula combines five ingredients plus rosehip powder in one product. Added to that is the powder format, rather than tablets or capsules.
A complementary feed for your dog's joints should cover the key building blocks for cartilage and connective tissue: glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate for cartilage, MSM for ligaments and tendons, collagen for suppleness, hyaluronic acid for joint lubrication. The NutraVital® Nature Joint Formula combines all five in one powder.
